Courthouse Lighting raffle offers impressive prize array

What great traditions we have in Prescott! We're right in the middle now of the 125th annual
Prescott Frontier Days
Rodeo after last weekend's 31st annual Bluegrass Festival. Work has already begun on another traditional event, the 58th annual Courthouse Lighting. The Prescott Chamber works with
Prescott Downtown Partnership
to manage the lighting program each year and we're lining up corporate and individual donors already.
A few years ago, we started a fundraising event to benefit the Courthouse Lighting. We call the event "Christmas in September," and we will hold this year's dinner Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Hassayampa Inn. The event is sponsored by The Daily Courier/dcourier.com and Bashford Courts Atrium Mall.
We are continuing the tradition of a reverse raffle. Throughout the evening, we'll be drawing ticket numbers. If your ticket is drawn, you're eliminated from the $5,000 prize, but you're still eligible for a "runner-up" prize at the end of the evening. If your ticket is the last one drawn, you win $5,000! Your $100 admission ticket provides you with food throughout the evening, entertainment and one entry into the reverse raffle. A maximum of 200 tickets will be sold for this event.
This year's runner-up prize is not so insignificant! It's a one-week Alaskan cruise on Princess Cruise Lines with arrangements by San Marin Travel of Chino Valley. The prize also includes roundtrip airfare from Phoenix to Seattle aboard Southwest Airlines, the official airline of Christmas in September. Every ticket purchased will be eligible for the cruise drawing.
Christmas in September also has a reputation for some pretty special food! This year's menu of food items will feature food from six different cuisines that have Arizona connections.
Tickets for Christmas in September are now on sale at the
Prescott Chamber of Commerce
and at Prescott Downtown Partnership. You may send a check payable to the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, or you may pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) by calling Debbie Ledbetter or Harold Viehweg at the chamber, 445-2000.
