On July 5, 2012, the Lord's faithful servant, Myla Kay, 55, went home. She had an admirable reverence for life and wonderful sense of adventure.
Kay is preceded in death by her mother, Edith Havens Frahm. Kay's legacy continues in her children, Christen Ramsey, husband Brandon, and son Michael Johnson; her beloved companion, Princess; her siblings; a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a host of friends. "Do not let your hearts be troubled ..." John 14:1-4
Kay was born Nov. 2, 1956, in Havre, Mont., to Robert and Edith Havens Frahm. She was second of six children and lived in Montana, New York, Tennessee, Sweden, Ghana, Texas, Nebraska and Arizona. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1975, then attended Abilene Christian University, where she met and married Stephen Johnson. She had a heart for people, volunteering at school, serving with the PTA, substitute teaching, volunteering as a children's advocate at the Stepping Stones Agencies (women and children's shelter) in Arizona, as a leader with Celebrate Recovery, providing care at the Margaret T. Morris Center in Prescott, Ariz. and the Christus St. Joseph Village in Coppell, Texas. She was single again in 2006, at which time she went back to college, graduating from
Northern Arizona University
, Summa Cum Laude on Dec. 10, 2009, with a B.S. in education.
Although Kay is now resting peacefully out of our sight, she will remain in our hearts and "...(she) will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23:6
The family will host an informal memorial service; for information, call 325-513-8187. We will celebrate her life and her Joy in the Lord. In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to the Christian Homes of Abilene in her Honor.
