Driver, horse injured in crash
A collision between a passenger car and a truck carrying a horse on Highway 89 in Chino Valley injured one person, let the horse loose on the roadway, and stopped traffic for a short period of time Saturday morning, a Chino Valley Police Department spokesman said.

Legislature OKs Brewer's revision of sales tax system
PHOENIX - The Arizona Legislature adopted a major overhaul of the state's complicated sales tax collection system in the final hours of the session Thursday night after a deal with cities and towns removed a major roadblock.

Also approved was an election omnibus bill that could limit early voting participation.

Sharlot Hall Museum anthropologist Sandy Lynch was the personal museum guide Tuesday for British archaeologist Ian George, accompanied by Agua Fria National Monument archaeologist Bryan Lausten from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

I-17 south of Camp Verde slated for 3 weeks of nighttime closures during rock blasting work
Beginning today, overnight rock blasting along Interstate 17 near Camp Verde will cause intermittent highway closures. A news release from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) announced that motorists traveling on I-17 south of Camp Verde between midnight and 3 a.m. during the next three weeks should plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Officers search for man near Willow Lake: Suspect rams police vehicle
Prescott police were still searching for a fugitive at Willow Lake Park as the sun went down Wednesday, after the man rammed a police vehicle to escape.

Prescott Area Narcotics Task Force officers went to Willow Lake Estates to locate a man with an outstanding warrant, but the man escaped in a vehicle, Prescott Police Department Lt. Ken Morley said.
