BE A PART OF Prescott's golf history when the 58th Annual Smoki Amateur Classic tees off Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2-3. Tee times start at 8 a.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. shotgun on Sunday. All entrants must have USGA Handicap Index. AGA points available. 8-man flights, scored by gross in flights. Overall low gross will be Champion. Hurley extends lead to 2 at Greenbrier Classic
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - Billy Hurley III doesn't plan to lose much rest sitting on a third-round lead for the first time on the PGA Tour.

The former U.S. Navy officer shot a 3-under 67 on Saturday to extend his advantage to two strokes over Angel Cabrera entering the final round of the Greenbrier Classic.

Bay Area to host Match Play, PGA, Presidents Cup
SAN FRANCISCO - The southwest corridor of San Francisco is going to get all the golf it can handle over the next decade.

TPC Harding Park will host the Match Play Championship in 2015, the PGA Championship in 2020 and the Presidents Cup in 2025. The announcement was made Wednesday by PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, PGA of America President Ted Bishop and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee at a swanky City Hall news conference.

Longest-serving PGA member dies at 103
STUART, Fla. - Samuel Henry "Errie" Ball, who played in the first Masters, died Wednesday. The English golf pro was 103.

Ball's daughter, Leslie Adams Gogerty, says her father died at Martin Hospital South in Stuart, Florida. Ball was most recently director of golf at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart.

Zunker, Stever win 1st Flight of Tour Tees for Antelope men
THE ANTELOPE HILLS MEN'S Golf Club held its Monday tournament on the North Course. The format for the tournament was the popular Tour Tees. In the first flight, Chuck Zunker had a nice round of 77 to claim low gross honors. Low net honors went to Don Stever with a net score of 65. It took a card-off to determine that Charles Steele 69 was better than Chuck Entwistle's to take second low net. Chuck took third low net with his 69. Fourth low net went to Bill Huth with a score of 70. In the second flight, it took a card-off, but Larry Lage 93 was better than Bryan Elliott 93 for low gross honors. Bryan then took low net honors with a net score of 67. It took another card-off to determine that Don Mrochek 93 captured second low gross. Second low net also required a card-off, with Herb Keeling and Mike Sherman. Herb's 70 was better than Mike's. Mike took third low net. Antelope Hills men crown Club Championship winners
THE ANTELOPE HILLS MEN'S Golf Club completed its Club Championship playoff this past Monday. In the first round of gross match play, Rick Davis defeated Russ Mc Garry and John Spehar defeated Ron Weiss. For the championship, Rick Davis beat John Spehar 1 up to capture the gross championship title. In the net division, Jack Owen won over Allen Durfee and Gene (the machine) Howell bested Bob Durick in the first round. For the net championship, Jack Owen won 1 up in a 19 hole match against Gene Howell and Jack is the 2014 net Club Champion. Some very close matches for the gross and net Championships.
