Chino Valley 4, 8 inn.

Plenty went wrong for the Cougars in this Thursday afternoon loss at home.

They lost a 4-1 lead. The pitching staff allowed 10 free passes via hit-by-pitch and walks. And the offense left the bases loaded in a critical fifth inning.

"They came off a big win over Bradshaw and we knew this was an important game," CVHS head coach Bruce Nesbitt said of his club. "I wouldn't say that we lost focus. ...We don't have a lot of depth so we need to play good. Bottom line, we're just not playing good ball right now."

The Cougars offense had four hits on the day, led by senior Tanner Knight who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Sophomore Josh Redfern took the loss on the pitching mound for Chino.

The Cougars (7-3-1) head to Mohave for a game this Saturday afternoon.
