Letter: Make a point of visiting Phippen

EDITOR:

Having worked at the Phippen Museum for the past five years, I'm proud to say I'm part of a fantastic team of staff, volunteers, sponsors and museum members who truly care about our community, and the value the museum adds to our quality of life in the quad-city area.

Enlightening exhibits, educational opportunities and entertaining events are all designed to allow members and guests to explore and discover something new about the amazing Art and Heritage of the American West.

And while most everyone I speak with has positive remarks regarding the museum, their comments are usually followed by words I've heard over and over.

"I drive by the museum all the time and keep meaning to stop in, but I haven't yet."

Now, it isn't unusual for folks to have a full schedule and little time during their busy week for an artistic or cultural experience. But, unfortunately for most, their enthusiastic interest usually devolves into forgotten intentions.

If this sounds like you, I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you to do you and your family a favor and make time for a visit to the new Phippen Museum. For years, guests from all over the state, nation and abroad have continued to journey to our outstanding facility, including tour groups from as far away as Germany and Japan.

And now, with our new expansion, the museum is even better than ever. So what are you waiting for?

The next time you drive by, please accept my personal invitation to stop by and see what you've been missing. After exploring the museum and experiencing all it has to offer, I'm sure you'll begin to see the Phippen as a world-class destination and not just a passing landmark. We're all very proud of the new Phippen Museum and, after seeing it for yourself, we think you will be, too.
