Agencies release threatened frogs near Payson, Camp Verde
The Arizona wilderness became a bit more populated with native frogs this week thanks to a team of biologists from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, and the Phoenix Zoo's Conservation Center.

Extreme birding in southeastern Arizona part II - Birding in paradise
On Tuesday, I began my day by visiting the Sierra Vista Environmental Operations Park - a fancy name for its wastewater facility. It may sound strange to purposefully go to a sewage pond to bird, but in the desert, where there is water, there are birds. I added several species to my trip list, including both yellow-headed and red-winged blackbirds, lazuli bunting, American coot and common moorhen.

Game and Fish Commission removes Roosevelt Lake fish size limit
At its meeting this past week in Phoenix, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission decided to lift the slot limit, which prevents anglers from keeping fish within a certain size limit, at Roosevelt Lake starting Aug. 17.
