Letter: Obama voters will get no sympathy

EDITOR:

Watching the election returns for the presidency, I thought of the old Toyota motto: "You asked for it - you got it." If you are retired and you voted for Obama, don't come crying when you can't find a doctor and your social security doesn't cover your power bill. If you are young and you voted for Obama, don't come crying when you can't find a job. If you are middle-aged and voted for Obama, don't come crying when you have to take your parents in and when they are refused medical care. If you are poor and you voted for Obama because you want free stuff, don't come crying when there is no free stuff to get. And if you are middle-class and you voted for Obama, you are rich to the rest of the world, so don't come crying when he taxes you to pay for welfare in Zimbabwe. You asked for it.

Barbara Nelson

Why "lower your standards"? Listen to Megan McCain, who says unless the gop moves forward on these wedge issues they will never win another national election. People are sick of government interfering in their private life. Until the Republicans offer good policies on these issues they will continue to lose. The generational gap will never accept going back to these bad policies that put the government in your bedroom or in your doctors office. The demographics show that putting forward a common sense and fair solution to immigration rights is what Americans want. We are a nation of immigrants and that is what made us great. But keep stonewalling and sticking your head in the sand. The 1950's are not coming back and good riddance. We have much better solutions now based on science and equality.

@espalda mojada-"pander to the hispanic voters, are you serious. This nation should never bend our principles for illegals, abortion, gay rights, never. Get a job and pay taxes because the freebies will not last forever. Nothing last forever and neither will this administration.

We won four years ago, and we won again. If you can't see it clearly its because the Anger Channel didn't want to report it.

@Peter Smith. Just thank God you'll never have to make that decision for yourself. You seem to be comfortable having the government make that decision for Michelle though. I suggest you take Bergman's advice. You know, when he stated"We've always believed you're free to believe and do as you like as long as you extend to others the same consideration". According to Bergman that is a Republican principle. Who knew they were pro-choice?8

The economy is already beginning to get better because the American economy cannot be kept down forever by any elected politician.

Columbia has better health care than the US--we're 37th in the world.

And welfare in Zimbabwe??? What on earth are you talking about?

P.S. I JUST GOT MY GIFT FROM OBAMA! If my wife or daughters are raped, they won't have to carry the rapist's baby to full term! Thanks Obama!!!

Barbara Nelson you are an embarrassment to your party, and to womanhood. I wouldn't worry much about anyone coming crying to YOUR door ever. Do your neighbours even speak to you?

Bergman your memory is selective and short, or possibly you are experiencing dementia to say "We've always believed you're free to believe and do as you like so long as you extend to others the same consideration." Remember when we came together after 9/11 to support President Bush? Probably not. Do you remember when we questioned the invasion of Iraq and the abandoning of Afghanistan conflict and the search for Bin Laden. We were called traitors and were told to fall into line support our President. I'm sure you have forgotten that too. Bergman, you are entitled to you opinion but not your made up Fox News facts!

You said "Harry, had Romney, or better yet Johnson, won the election, none of us would have ever considered telling you "We won, now you have to start cooperating to build our vision of America."

Read what I said again: "Barbara Nelson,Tom Steele, Chris Bergman and the rest of the sore losers are as good at predicting the future as they were predicting the outcome of the election. Utter nonsense from right wingers that don't have a clue! Keep it up folks and you will join the history of defunct political parties!"

I didn't ask for your support.

You and your ilk here (like the crazy "Satan's Followers" are so filled with hate and mistrust that you will go to your graves with a stone cold heart. I feel sorry for you. Please seek the truth of our Lord Jesus and his love for all.

When 95% of blacks vote for a black president that's racist. Why? Because there's no way that 95% of any race favors a candidate based on his message, they favor him because he's black. Same case for over 70% of hispanics voting for him. Hispanics aren't all in love with him, but he's a minority. I bet those minority groups would vote for just about any black man, let alone one who went to Harvard. Romney would have won if he'd pulled a Gene Wilder blackface routine.

TO MICHELLE STAR:

I am truly praying for you. To make abortion your method of birth control and by taking a life that God himself gave to you because of your irresponsibility is just heartbreaking. How you can look in your current children's eyes knowing that you could have just as easily killed them in the womb is beyond me. It is a sad time for our country and children

Article comment by: Reality has a Liberal bias

I was absolutely tickled to see how EVERY pundit on the right fell victim to their own echo chamber. Landslide for Romney? Romney failed to win his home state, his family's home state, his vacation state, his second vacation home's state (CA). Why? Because these are the people who know Romney best. His running mate failed to win his home state, and lost his home town of Janesville by 25 points! Why? Because they were angry about the way Ryan flat-out lied about Obama and the cause of the closing of the Janesville GM plant.

And I'm thrilled that the right is incapable of grasping the reasons or meaning behind the Obama win. Listen to Romney say the reason he lost is because Obama was giving free stuff away. Listen to Karl Rove explain that the Left engaged in voter supression. Listen to the GOP pundits tell you that Obama is selling out American jobs to buy immigrant votes. Listen to Ann Coulter describe how Obama is "anti-American" and all Liberals are bereft of any morals. Every time you eat that up and spout it back, it makes the Left happy. Because it means you'll get rolled again in 2014, 2016 and beyond.

Please, please, please...stay tuned to the Fox echo chamber....keep drinking your Kool-Aid.

I couldn't have said it any better, Barbara, and good for you. If Obama had lost, oh goodness, the protests and "racists" remarks would have been still on all the local liberal news stations and newspapers. Seems so double-standard. Yes, don t forget the "taxes" that Obamacare will also bring to those liberal loonies. Medicare taxes being funded by this so called "healthcare" will have a domino affect but the liberals can't think beyond their welfare checks. Good luck America, you have four years of doom ahead of you.

I'm an Independent, and as I see it, no matter which party would have won, the lower half of the working and retired middle class will be screwed. The rich will still be rich and the poor will still be poor, no matter what the government takes away or gives to them. The rich can afford to lose, and the poor have nothing to lose. That leaves the middle class...
The Republicans & TEA partyers seem to do themselves in - they have no one else to blame for their arrogance and inability to reach the bottom half of the middle class. To use a football analogy, whenever they do get the ball, they fumble it. Take Obamacare as an example. It was a Supreme Court judge favored by the Republicans whose deciding vote found Obamacare to be Constitutional! We have the fear and uncertainty of socialized medicine now because of this. You also try to bust unions, even though so many working people belong to them. You expect those on Medicare & SS to pay more for the benefits they have EARNED, but you can't see to ask the rich to pay more in taxes? You are so out of touch!
Most average Americans simply want to see a compromise for the good of the people, and they don't care which party initiates the process. It looks like raising taxes on the wealthy is a good place to start to keep us from falling over the 'fiscal cliff.' Then we need to revamp our tax codes, cut out loopholes, and cut wasteful spending . There are many areas other than Social Security, Medicare, and defense spending where this can be done. Come on guys, it's not that hard! Quit whining and prognosticating doom & gloom, and get moving!

"had Romney, or better yet Johnson, won the election, none of us would have ever considered telling you "We won, now you have to start cooperating to build our vision of America."
No one has told you that you have to 'start cooperating' to build a Democrat vision of America, Bergman. That's crap. What you've said is completely made up nonsense. Be honest. You don't *have* do anything but complain if that's all you want to do. You and your ilk seem to be experts at it. No one is going to put you into re-education camps for speaking your mind.
"We've always believed you're free to believe and do as you like so long as you extend to others the same consideration."
You can believe you're all fairy godmothers if that does it for you. It's your ilk's actions I scrutinize. The truth is, well, there ain't a lick of truth to what you say. Your ilk *hasn't* had the same consideration for everyone in this country that may think a bit differently, choose to live outside your ilk's religious social club or run against the grain a bit. Stop peeing on us and telling us it's rain, Bergman.
I don't vote for 'government goodies,' and if that is really the best you got, man, that truly is the weak sauce, even for you, Bergman. Simply put, I vote to keep certain ideologies from bearing any fruit.
When your ilk's ideologies fail, eventually hanging themselves, I'll be the guy over here supplying the rope.

@ Chris Bergman, who said:

"To all you Obamaphants, yes, you won."

"Obamaphants." More of your standard name-calling. When (and if) you ever learn to speak to people without denigrating them -- the GOP's biggest failing -- I'll be more inclined to pay attention to what you have to say. Otherwise, to me it's just another rant.

and @ Chris Bergman, who said:

"none of us would have ever considered telling you 'We won, now you have to start cooperating to build our vision of America.'"

Of course not. You wouldn't have had to, because we Democrats accept our losses, and buckle down and work with the majority. That's what democracy means.

@No Free Lunch, who said

"Frankly, I wouldn't let my kids eat the 'free' breakfast or lunch for that matter, it's crap."

Such a sweeping statement. So if, God forbid, you were destitute, you'd let your kids starve when there was a way available to feed them? Be careful what you wish for.

He Preskitt local...it's clear you were educated here...you got a job...nothing more nothing less. Everyone has one. You chose evaluating children..others choose working with wrenches or owning businesses. Now where do you see that collecting a paycheck is your contribution to the world or to your country. Get over it.
